RoboHelp 7 becomes part of Adobe's total technical communications portfolio

The much-anticipated Adobe RoboHelp 7 has been released. It includes these author-friendly new features:

  • Multiple Document Interface (MDI) for easy copy/paste editing across topics.
  • Create personalized workspace environments - custom toolbars, menus, keyboard shortcuts and dockable new pods can be saved in the position that works for you.
  • Full Unicode language support for 35 languages, so that authors can provide content for end users around the world.
  • Robust FrameMaker import of FM, BOOK, MIF, BK and FRM files for those authors who want to re-use content for online outputs such as PDF, HTML and WebHelp.
  • Single Sourcing features such as Snippets, Multiple TOCs, Indexes and Glossaries.
  • Enhanced end user Search experience with Search Term Highlighting, Synonyms and Breadcrumb Navigation.
  • A new HTML editor that emphasizes clean code and an end to “kadov” proprietary tags.
  • Support for Windows Vista and MS Office 2007.
  • Command line enhancements and ability for administrators to install remotely.
  • Quickly make screenshots and edit images with RoboScreenCapture integration.
  • Create an Adobe Captivate 3 animated tutorial without leaving RoboHelp.
  • Support for Internet Protocol v6, to meet demands of new governmental requirements and standards.

Building on popularity - These new features simply build on RoboHelp's long reputation as a leading tool for author's worldwide. In fact, WritersUA recently published its annual survey of authoring tools used by technical writers. The survey showed that RoboHelp continues to be the choice of help authoring professionals with 56% of the respondents using one or more versions of the popular Adobe product.

Adobe has also identified an emerging technical communications solution made up of Adobe Acrobat, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Captivate, and of course Adobe RoboHelp.

All of this support is further proof of Adobe's committment to the technical communications community to support their favorite tools.

Adobe continues its "listening to users tour" into 2008 where you will find members of the team at Society for Technical Communications national conventions and regional meetings, Writers UA in Portland, Oregon and conferences throughout the world.
