She is well known in the Help community for her knowledge of online Help tools and concepts. She speaks frequently at conferences around the world on Help topics, cross-browser issues, and tool-specific functionality. Char has written two books on RoboHelp and numerous articles. Along with Brenda Huettner and Kit Brown, she co-authored Managing Virtual Teams: Getting the Most from Wikis, Blogs, and Other Collaborative Tools, due to be published in late 2006 by Wordware Publishing.

Char created the original Help Authoring Tool (HAT) Comparison Matrix, which was available from 2001 until November, 2006.
